You'll find no better way of experiencing the Rocky Mountains when you travel by the Amtrak's California Zephyr train. It doesn't matter where you sit. Coach, sleeper, siteseeing & lounge car, the views come to you! Taking good photographs can be trying. Shooting through the train window has its issues with sunglare, shadows, rain streaks on the glass to name a few. You need patience to capture some really nice imagery! With the conveniece of using an iPhone, I was able to take quality photographs while avoiding obstacles outside the train. While composing an image on the fly, I had to wait until the train would give me a optimal angle to shoot, maximizing light on the subject and minimizing shadows. You'll need to take a couple photographs of the same composition so make sure your iPhone has plenty of space!

Donald Trump's Rally
Republican candidate Donald Trump attends his rally at the IX Center in Cleveland, Ohio. His last 2 events came with incidents involving protestors in Chicago and Dayton. After speaking for some time, protests would erupt from small groups of spectators in the audience. He took it in stride, waited for security to escort the people out and then spoke his patented phrase, "get'em out of here!" This happened a half dozen times. The crowd was very responsive as Mr. Trump presented his ideas for the country. He did not let his audience down. UPDATE: Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States.
Governor John Kasich's Townhall
John Kasich visit's Strongsville Ohio for a townhall rally at the community recreation center. Mr. Kasich is one of several candidates in the running for the republican party nominee for the general election later this year. March 15 is super Tuesday and that's when Ohio votes for a candidate with delegates. This was a great way to meet the candidate up close and personal. The governor had a lot of good to say that day. UPDATE: Governor Kasich won the primary in Ohio by beating Donald Trump with close to 50% of the Republican vote.
Ohio Mud Volleyball Tournament
These photographs were taken at the 28th Annual Mud & Grass Volleyball Tournament. The attendance for the event is always very high. As you can see in the photographs, there's fun to be had by all! Most players take the time to duct tape their clothes tightly to their bodies in order not to have them fall off during play. A lot of time and effort goes into running this event. Every year these courts are dug out with excavation machines and then filled with water. Most of the proceeds goes to local charities. Check out their website for more information.
The Maine Thing
As one of my more memorable get aways, I can say Maine is simply beautiful and charming. Spending time along the coast in a summer cottage takes you back to a simplier time. I'm sure most of us would agree that is a good thing considering our busy lives. From the fishing boats and rocky outcrop views near the ocean, to the picturesque sea side towns or the beauty of the lush green forests, it's all wonderful. Do yourself a favor, try Maine once and you will be back wanting more! Visit Maine's travel website, visit maine

These are a few of my recently scanned slides of the pros playing sand ball at Headlands back in the day. The sport was just taking off. Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos were always the ones to beat. Can you tell me what year this took place and who won the tournament? If you were there or in one of these photos, let me know. UPDATE! After some research, AVP tournament was in Cleveland(Mentor Headlands) from 1988-1990. These photos are from July of 1988. Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos took 2nd place that year but finish 1st in 1989 and 2nd in 1990.
